a₁=2 b₁=1

z₂ = a₂ + b₂i

a₂=1 b₂=2
(2+1i)+(1+2i)=3+3i(2+1i) + (1+2i) = 3+3i

Adding complex numbers = adding vectors. Move z₁'s tip and draw z₂ from there – where you land is z₁+z₂ (parallelogram law).
