Theory

A plane is usually given by its traces – its intersection lines with the image planes. They are lines, which makes them easy to work with.

The ground trace p₁ is the intersection with π₁ (zero height there), the front trace p₂ is the intersection with π₂ (zero depth).

Both traces pass through the same point on the ground line. That is the fastest check: if your traces do not meet on x₁₂, something is wrong.
